Parallel resonant circuit converter in thyristor technology
This type of converter represents the beginning of static converter technology. It is still very popular today for feeding crucible melting furnaces and is used up to high outputs.
In direct comparison to series resonant circuit converters, the main advantage is that the inverter carries almost only the active current.
12- and 24-pulse rectifier designs are used in high-performance converters to reduce the design-related line effects.
The power control takes place via phase control of the rectifier.
