Converter Power Supply from Solar Power Plant

A relatively new topic is the direct feeding of the intermediate circuit of converters from a solar collector plant.

This direct feed-in increases the efficiency of the solar collector plant because it eliminates a conversion from DC to AC and a conversion form AC to DC.

The converter remains connected to the power grid, and the solar collector plant feeds its entire output directly into the coverter. The power fed from the power grid is reduced accordingly, or may even be reduced to zero, depending on the power ratio between the converter and the solar plant.

If the solar plant provides more energy than the connected converter requires, the surplus is fed into the power grid.

This technology can also be applied to existing converters and is particularly suitable for areas with high solar availability and short distances between the solar arrays and the converter, such as those found on the roof of a building.
